Virtual Smiles services are easy to use.

Take a photo:

• Position your patient against a plain, pale colored background. Ideally, create an area in your practice that is a permanent studio. That will make it easy to institute a routine where every patient is photographed.
• For the best view of the teeth, have the patient smile broadly and position their head straight forward without tilt in any direction.

Lighting

• Lighting is critical but easy. Use a ring flash or slave lights set at 45° angels for full exposure.
• Avoid over exposure.
• Turn off fluorescent lights

Resolution

• Use the highest resolution setting on your camera. You can always sample down later if you need to.
• When sending photos to Virtual Smiles, we like a photo that is at least 2000 pixels wide or at least 1 megabyte in overall size so that we can send back a high quality result that will print well.

• The best, quickest way to use our imaging service is to use the convenient order form for your instructions and to email your photos to us.
• If you'd prefer, you can include instructions in an email along with the photos.
• If you'd rather us traditional mail, that's fine but please realize that you must take in to account the time it takes to send and receive traditional mail.

You simulation will be returned to you, by email, standard mail, or via a password protected web page, in any or all of the following formats.
